I have put out some feelers for an seo expert to take my one site higher on ranking and alexa. The bid's I'm getting range from $75 to $500 a month. What I want to ask here is how much is a good seo expert going to charge and what happens say after 2 or 3 months when I stop using him or her. Will my sites collapse in ranking or not.

You can not do it in a few weeks, you have to plan on a few months and then decide how much you can afford to send per month.
