Sometimes I want to slap the stupid out of people
I received emails from an old caming account and a billing account that my ID on file is about to expire. In order to keep the accounts I need to submit a valid ID ASAP no later than... deadline. Now here is my gripe: My ID was verified when I opened the accounts. The accounts have never lapsed. Why on earth does my identity need to be verified again? Do I cease to be me when my ID expires? Stupid...

This is becoming ever too common. The concern I have is do sites keep our id and data secure and what if they get hacked,

Yeah, I seen the thread but that's not really my gripe. The two accounts that want to re-verify aren't affiliate accounts. One is a cam model account and the other is billing processor account. I've been verified, why verify again?nudelinks wrote: ↑January 14th, 2019, 12:57 pmI posted about id requirements last month in this thread https://www.sponsorchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=74&t=2027

I got your point in the first post heidihoe but it's about the same in reality. These companies are starting to ask for more personal details and id's than I feel comfortable giving to strangers. A bank is not some guy in his mommies house running a program, banks have real security and still get hacked. Imagine some program server getting hacked all your id information getting into the wrong hands.

Oh I agree with your point. The two that emailed actually have a legal need for the ID. In one 2257 applies and the other is a stichting account (a Dutch legal entity with limited liability that enables me to avoid paying visa/mastercard crap fees). What bugs me is I've been verified, why do it again? stupid....nudelinks wrote: ↑January 14th, 2019, 1:12 pmI got your point in the first post heidihoe but it's about the same in reality. If the date on the ID for example driver licence, passport has expired they are required by all the bullshit banking KYC laws now in place to request a new valid ID.
I have been through this with Paypal recently and they said they don't want to get aught with thir pants down in case they get audited.

Yeah I'm familiar with KYC for financial institutions and of course 2257 requirements. And bullshit is right, once you're verified that should be good enough. I still have several other cam model accounts and none of the others insist on re-verification. The stichting account is an entity under Dutch jurisdiction, so unless they have a KYC law that shouldn't even apply.TheButcher wrote: ↑January 14th, 2019, 1:27 pmIf the date on the ID for example driver licence, passport has expired they are required by all the bullshit banking KYC laws now in place to request a new valid ID.

Once verified you're verified. PERIOD. Does your bank ask you to bring in your new ID once your ID expires? My guess is that's a big fat NO. I'm guessing it's Paypal's policy and they're claiming it's required under KYC laws just to shut you up.

I agree with what you just said HeidiHoe, my bank has never asked for ID once verified. It is a waste of time asking for it again but I guess these online companies are trying to play safe. I know when I get a replacement credit card n the mail the bank asks me to take it in with a current ID to activate it, but it's the one bank that does it to me so far.

Most likely that's to prevent fraud, not due to KYC.TheButcher wrote: ↑January 14th, 2019, 1:46 pmI know when I get a replacement credit card n the mail the bank asks me to take it in with a current ID to activate it, but it's the one bank that does it to me so far.

It's fine by me either way especially if it cuts down on fraud. Before this they used to have a peel off sticker on the card asking you to call to activate your card. This seems a more secure wy to verify it is you activating the card.HeidiHoe wrote: ↑January 14th, 2019, 5:16 pmMost likely that's to prevent fraud, not due to KYC.TheButcher wrote: ↑January 14th, 2019, 1:46 pmI know when I get a replacement credit card n the mail the bank asks me to take it in with a current ID to activate it, but it's the one bank that does it to me so far.

If you are verified this is a waste of time for them to ask you to do it again, my 1 cent.
