One of the problems is you can get dinged by the SE for things you have no control over. That's what happend to me when i embedded the new chaturbate cams. They don't declare a viewport and google dinged me for not being mobile friendly because of that. That's why i needed a work around.
It spured me to check source code of some other ifame ads and all but one of them have the same issue. That's besides the negative impact iframes have on load time. Last few days i yanked most of my iframe ads. They probably caused more damage then they did good.

As in a page hosted on the same domain as the parent page making it trusted? Friendy is cool since you can manipulate it. For example i could use javascript to add buttons to open my cam embeds fullscreen and close fullscreen. That's pretty cool. Problem with iframe ads is you can't really make 'em on demand. Who demands ads? Lol

lol good point, I might have called it the wrong thing, definitely don't want it on demand. :pHeidiHoe wrote: ↑January 10th, 2019, 7:08 pmAs in a page hosted on the same domain as the parent page making it trusted? I was thinking more if there might be a way to have PHP or JS read the iframe html and just output it as regular html on load in a div, making it look like part of the page minus things like "hotlinked" images. But, then I wouldn't want anything with the ad iframe to be broken if I'm doing something like CPM..

It couldn't be a php include and SE looks right thru the JS. hmmm... I'm sure you can figure it out.Colmike7 wrote: ↑January 10th, 2019, 8:25 pmlol good point, I might have called it the wrong thing, definitely don't want it on demand. :pHeidiHoe wrote: ↑January 10th, 2019, 7:08 pmAs in a page hosted on the same domain as the parent page making it trusted? Sort of like you would do with a feed? I guess you could create a json from the iframe page content and then render it on your page. That might actually work.

Years ago there was a popular javascript (or ajax???) used to do a timed refresh on a div containing a webcam still. I wonder if something similar could be used to trigger the on demand iframe?Colmike7 wrote: ↑January 10th, 2019, 8:25 pm

I think I have some coding tucked away that does a div refresh from a couple years ago. I might see if I still have it and take a look. Just not sure right now how to trigger the on demand iframe or how long a delay would be sufficient.

... plus it would have to be one time refresh, not interval based...

Well, it might work for other SEs, but Google can basically read pages on the DOM level, as well as indexing dynamic content.. So that might just be a waste of JS :/
