It's easy to use and slow. I deleted it, though, because I don't really have much use for that.
The reason why I used that is because I needed to sign up for something and have it think I was in the Netherlands so that I could confirm without a phone number. It worked well for that..

I have used it a few times, I dont trust it much but it is an onion router and it does the job. Depends on what you need it for. If you just want to use an onion routing system then sure go for it tor is going to do that for you.
If you need that extra security though, take a look at tails https://tails.boum.org/
Its a live operating system, uses tor for onion routing but it runs on your system RAM so it leaves no trace on your system storage.

Its an OS that runs on your system memory. Not sure if snowden uses it or not. But its pretty awesome when you need to hide what you are doing or stay anon.HeidiHoe wrote: ↑November 28th, 2018, 9:18 pmTails... isn't that the OS used by Snowden?sebflo wrote: ↑November 28th, 2018, 12:24 pmI have used it a few times, I dont trust it much but it is an onion router and it does the job. I might check out Tails, the closest distro that I've used like that is Phlak I think.sebflo wrote: ↑November 30th, 2018, 11:49 amThat is true, but most wont have the toolset that tails has. I guess you can use the package manager of your choosing to just install what ever packages you need.

I rarely use it, I do have it installed in a VM on my laptop but honestly use maybe once or twice a year. Kali Linux has a nice toolset also. Off topic but what linux distro do you use the most? I have been using Ubuntu server for ever and spent a year or so using popOS! for desktop. Have been thinking about using Amazon Linux on some of my instances.Colmike7 wrote: ↑November 30th, 2018, 12:02 pmI might check out Tails, the closest distro that I've used like that is Phlak I think.

I grew up using Knoppix but Ubuntu is good too. I don't use it nearly as much as I used to though. Using Ethereal to hack back in the day was fun, though, I used it for WEP back when more people used that.. :psebflo wrote: ↑November 30th, 2018, 12:11 pmI rarely use it, I do have it installed in a VM on my laptop but honestly use maybe once or twice a year. My boyfriend uses i and tells me regularly I should get it for security, but I always work form home and my router is secure so I am not going to get it. He works out of home and the office so I see why he would want it, but when I am on my webcam it is always from my home.
