I have 2 paid ones and will not renew them when the time comes up, why blow the money for nothing when you can have it for free.

but SSL if you have a membership site or store or forum or any site where people leave their information that they dont want stolen?
AutoSSL is domain verification SSL without a warranty attached. It's encrypted, it works and should be sufficient in most cases. Only you know what you need and feel comfortable with.
If you are going to have people pay things, probably an SSL would be the safe way to go. But as you say Auto SSL will probably fit the bill in most cases.

Make sure they are not set to automatically rebill next year, go with the auto-ssl for free.

How much is a basic cloudflare account.
Stop looking for reps if they don't care why waste your time and traffic at their program, fuck that.

An SSL is a must today & you talk to your hosting they probably provide it for free, that is what mine did for me after 5 years with them.
