TEAMS "Unknown user" question

I just logged into my TEAMS account and 4 of the contacts I have had regular communication with have no avatar and show "Unknown User"

What is that about?

Those users might have changed their privacy settings or deleted their accounts.

A software glitch could explain this one, it happens on another messaging platform where from time to time the contacts show up as 'Unknown'
