It was open until you know who started this war, now his declared goal is to open it up. No further comment.tacnet wrote: ↑July 17th, 2026, 10:29 pmI don't think they will EVER give it up. Even if Trump makes them sign a piece of paper saying free passage, they know it only takes a pick up truck and a few drones to shut it down again. They've got Trump by the balls and they know all they have to do is squeezeTheButcher wrote: ↑July 17th, 2026, 10:06 pmI agree with everything you said Tac but if I was in their shoes I would not give it up easily![]()

The war continues.

"The US military says it has completed another round of strikes on Iran’s military infrastructure after vowing to “swiftly punish” Tehran for an attack on Jordan that left two US service members dead and one missing in action. Explosions were heard in the Iranian city of Bandar Abbas and on Qeshm Island, state media reported.
• Widening conflict: There’s been another wave of Iranian fire on US allies in the region, including in Kuwait, where officials said a power and desalination plant was attacked for a second consecutive day. Bahrain also said it intercepted strikes.
• In Jordan: Sirens have sounded and eyewitnesses in the port city of Aqaba heard several blasts after the Israeli military reported Iranian missile launches toward Jordan. "

Netanyahu is coming over in a couple days to do what exactly?
"President Trump will meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Tuesday, the Israeli Prime Minister's office said in a statement.
Why it matters: Netanyahu has met with Trump in the Oval Office six times since Trump returned to office a year-and-a-half ago — more than any other world leader. But Netanyahu is deeply unpopular in Washington these days, among Democrats, Trump's close circle and the MAGA base.
Trump is considering resuming major combat operations in Iran that would likely include a joint military campaign with Israel similar to the launch of Operation Epic Fury on Feb. 28. A meeting with Netanyahu could be significant for Trump's decision-making and for coordination between the countries."

If you ask me, this war is going to drag on for years just like Ukraine.
Remember when Putin launched his "special military operation" and thought it would all be wrapped up in a few weeks ? To be honest, most of the world thought the same because Russia was the 2nd biggest military in the world and they were up against Ukraine who who hardly had an air force let alone a navy. Nobody thought Ukraine would last a month and yet here we are, 4.5 years later, and Ukraine is STILL not subdued.
Now Trump has launched his "little excursion" into Iran in the belief that America's vastly superior forces would have it all wrapped up in a few weeks. The trouble is, warfare has changed in the last few years. Its not about how many ships, planes, tanks or even soldiers you have anymore. Now it's all about drones. Drones make it easier for weaker countries like Ukraine and Iran to resist the traditional superpowers like USA and Russia.
I really can't see a way out of this. Trump can't back down, he can't come out of it with nothing and if he tries to put boots on the ground, they will be sitting ducks for every drone in Iran
Just my opinion

My 2 cents this war is going to go on for a very long time, every time there is a cessation of military action its like a coffee break, it will restart. What are your thoughts?
"President Donald Trump on Monday defended Washington's approach to Iran, saying the U.S. is "winning big time" against the Islamic Republic and insisting Tehran must never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.
"We're making this country safe because we're not going to let lunatics have a nuclear weapon," Trump said at a General Motors event in Milford, Michigan.
"We're winning big time with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we're ensuring that they never have a nuclear weapon," he added.
Trump said the rationale behind his policy was "simple."
"When somebody comes up and says, 'Why are we doing this?' Just say, 'Because we cannot let them have a nuclear weapon.' It's very simple. It's all you have to say."
He added, "If you understood the power of nuclear weapons, you'd understand exactly what I was saying.""

Yep totally agree.TheButcher wrote: ↑July 27th, 2026, 5:22 pmMy 2 cents this war is going to go on for a very long time, every time there is a cessation of military action its like a coffee break, it will restart. What are your thoughts?
I don't support the Iranian regime in any way but imagine if another country, who you've long considered your enemy, suddenly attacked you without warning and killed your leaders as well as thousands of your citizens and proceeded to bomb your country to rubble. Would you be inclined to make peace with them ? I doubt it
If you think we are suffering now, wait until Iran closes the Bab El Mandeb strait (which they appear to have already done) as that will close the Suez Canal and that will REALLY screw up the global economy
Trump is going to have to give Iran whatever the hell they want in order to get the global economy going again

I agree with everything you said, no fan of the regime in Iran but they were trying to negotiate and got a surprise attack by two nuclear powers. Killing all those leaders on top of their religious one does not make people want to welcome the countries attacking them. But I guess Trump knows best.tacnet wrote: ↑July 27th, 2026, 5:40 pmYep totally agree.TheButcher wrote: ↑July 27th, 2026, 5:22 pmMy 2 cents this war is going to go on for a very long time, every time there is a cessation of military action its like a coffee break, it will restart.
