my server has a load of 2.08 my techs tell me not to worry

I asked my host techs to check why my server is at load 2.08 and they said it was bots but I should not worry they restarted apache and that's it. Is it alright to have a high load for extended periods of time or will the hardware fail.

This server runs around .3 unless it gets hit by bots my opinion 2 is high

Ask them to block the ip’s where the majority of these bots are coming from

Restart the sql and httpd(apache) servers then do a graceful restart see what happens.

My rule of thumb is 0.75 max after that i open a support ticket with my host.

My server has had problems this year , thinking out loud here, is it just my sites getting hit hard with bots or can it be the host is being targeted and I am collateral damage so to speak of.
