Our Supreme Court did the right thing with 2 decisions just now
This is why we have 3 branches of government!!!!!!
"Birthright citizenship upheld: The Supreme Court upholds birthright citizenship, striking down President Donald Trump’s executive order.
• Ruling on trans sports: The Supreme Court is letting states ban transgender athletes from playing on girls sports teams. The ruling comes amid a political and legal backlash against trans Americans in conservative states.
• 6-3 court: Tuesday is the last day of the term, which has seen the 6-3 conservative majority further cement its power in ways that has benefited Trump and Republicans. "

Just goes to show when people cry how the court is tipped in favour of conservatives and republicans they interpret the constitution on a legal basis not partisan one.
I agree 100% with both decisions.

The birth thing should be for all states, the trans sports rules should be up to the states, they came up with the right decision.

This affects me personally as I was born in the USA, to British parents and Ive lived in the UK since I was 5 years old. But one of the things the Trump administration is trying to do is say 'ok, if your a US citizen then you need to pay US taxes'. But I've never worked in the US, never had any Us benefits and Im already paying UK taxes ???

By US law you have to declare your worldly income in the States by filing a Federal tax return each year, I have an English friend born in Chicago when his parents were working there and he does that whole US tax filing. He gets exemptions and tax credits but his beef is he has to pay a US cpa to do his returns.tacnet wrote: ↑July 3rd, 2026, 5:18 pmExactlyborn2bewild wrote: ↑July 3rd, 2026, 4:35 pmHow can you not give citizenship to people born here that is one dumb idea, where would they be citizens of.You can not tell a person born hey find a country that allows you to be their citizen.![]()
