SpaceX IPO might make Elon Musk world's 1st TRILLIONAIRE
Elon Musk could be world's first trillionaire!!!!!!!
"SpaceX officially revealed its plans to go public on Wednesday, which would catapult Elon Musk’s already world-leading wealth to even greater heights.
The blockbuster IPO could bring in massive amounts of money for what’s now dominant private-sector space company. And it could make Musk the world’s first trillionaire.
Musk founded SpaceX in 2002, initially entirely focused on building rockets and delivering payloads to outer space. It became a telecommunications company in 2021, with its first customers for Starlink, its satellite-based internet service.
In February, Musk merged SpaceX with xAI, his artificial intelligence company, which includes his social media platform, X."

More news on the IPO
" Elon Musk’s SpaceX unveiled plans Wednesday to raise $75 billion in an initial public offering of its stock that would value the company at roughly $1.77 trillion. The blockbuster debut could make Musk – already the world’s richest person – the first trillionaire.
SpaceX plans to sell 555.6 million shares at an initial price of $135 a share, the company said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The decision to dictate one price target, as opposed to offering a range, is a unique move that reflects the hot IPO market around the AI craze and Musk’s own tendency for mega-scale goals.
Musk, who currently owns half of SpaceX, would still control nearly half of the company’s total shares after the offering. However, some of those are special shares with greater voting power, and Musk will control 82.4% of the voting power after the IPO, according to the filing. "

Unbelievable how one man can be so rich and there are millions of homeless people sleeping on the streets not eating a hot meal in days.

If you take Musk out of the equation, then financially this valuation is way over hyped.
The SpaceX market cap is $2.2 trillion.....for a company that only did $18.7 billion in revenue last year and posted a net loss of $4.9 billion. That's a price to sales ratio of about 112x. Not earnings, SALES. For context, Apple trades around 9x sales. Nvidia at the absolute peak of AI mania was around 30x. SpaceX just IPO'd at nearly 4x that, while losing money !!
There's 3 parts to SpaceX. There's rockets, communications (ie Starlink) and xAI (Grok). Starlink is the only division making money (accounting for around 2 thirds of the overall revenue). The other two divisions are loosing money hand over fist especially AI which lost over $6 billion last year. With Anthropic and OpenAI about to go public soon, the outlook for the AI division doesn't look great
Im no expert but if the investment thesis is “the stock doesn’t need to justify its valuation, it just needs even more hype,” then it’s just speculating that future buyers will be willing to pay a higher price than today’s buyers. That logic can work for a while but it doesn’t create value, it transfers value between investors at different points in time.

The stock market works on some reverse logic. Companies that lose money go public and are valued at insane amounts. If I wanted to sell my websites no one will pay a dollar if they were in the red.
