Will Hantavirus turn into the next pandemic
Hantavirus kills people and it sounds dangerous, is it the next pandemic?

Apparently it wont be a pandemic as its not that easy to spread.
You gotta feel for those poor people on that ship. I didn't realize that Hantavirus is what killed Gene Hackman's wife a few months back and obviously he died aswell

Cruise ships are a sitting duck for diseases, so many people boarding and leaving on an on going basis. All it takes is one infected person to spread disease to thousands of people on board. This is why I never wanted to go on a cruise.

The people on that cruise ship must have suffered a nightmare knowing what was going on around them and being stuck on the ship.

Apparently the first two cases went bird watching at a rat infested landfill site in Chile just before getting on the boat. They both died
According to what Ive seen on the news, it wont become a pandemic. It's very lethal but its also difficult to spread. Your only contagious for a day or two after you've shown symptoms and it hasn't mutated in the last 30 years. Compare that to Covid where you were contagious for days before showing any symptoms and it mutated every few months

The state of the economy, oil prices, inflation, wars all we need on top of all these problems is another pandemic and lock downs.

The crazy thing is that apparently the CDC wasn't allowed to contact the WHO about this virus because Trump pulled America out of the WHO last year. They had to get a special exemption from the White House for this specific outbreak.
