ok, take even the most popular equation e=mc^2 (which is an oversimplification actually, and not even in the format Einstein presented it originally, but still...) stare at it, realise the significance, the elegance, how far it takes us... the fact that it works is kind of insane really. there is beauty in that.
i think it's easier for a person who doesn't do physics to see beauty in equation than it is for a non-developer to see beauty in code. hence the example

i recently watched one interview with that man out of curiosity, there is so much drama surrounding his name years after his death... i was surprised how much sense the guy was making when he spoke about physics. the scope was limited since he's not a trained scientist, but the man knew more physics than vast majority of people who are not trained in physics. it's a shame he was attracted to children and acted on that disability (or whatever you want to call it).britporn_mike wrote: ↑May 7th, 2026, 7:05 amI read it as EpsteinFarang wrote: ↑May 7th, 2026, 6:36 amok, take even the most popular equation e=mc^2 (which is an oversimplification actually, and not even in the format Einstein presented it originally, but still...) stare at it, realise the significance, the elegance, how far it takes us... the fact that it works is kind of insane really. there is beauty in that.

php is alive and kicking (in part thanks to laravel framework) and still powering most of the web i believe. i don't use php anymore, but many people do. Pieter Levels, for example, famously kind of stayed with the oldschool ways (php, sql) and is making millions pumping project after project hehe - i believe i posted about him here previously.foxxxychick wrote: ↑May 8th, 2026, 4:38 pmQuestion I have for you is php still the prevailing language for adult sites?
PS. frontend is all javascript one way or another anyway and php for backend is fine

Any coder who does not know it should go flip burgers and make room for professionals to do their job.Farang wrote: ↑May 7th, 2026, 2:31 ami knew this was coming. 4 hours of awesomeness - what a Thursday morning gift!

yes, i assumed that ffmpeg is more mainstream than it actually is. many people have no idea what it is. so yeah, my remark was aimed at software engineers. thanksMatty2 wrote: ↑May 18th, 2026, 11:10 amAny coder who does not know it should go flip burgers and make room for professionals to do their job.Farang wrote: ↑May 7th, 2026, 2:31 ami knew this was coming. 4 hours of awesomeness - what a Thursday morning gift!
