The UAE is leaving OPEC on May 1st, will this lead to the break up of the organization and lower gas prices at the pump?

It seems a good decision for them to leave and for the world, more competition leads to lower prices.

They are a big oil producer so yes it is good for overall prices if they start selling more oil.

Oil is going to go away in importance as EV's take center stage and ICE cars become banned so they must have realized what's with limiting our production, let's go balls the the wall produce and sell as much as we can while it's in style.

You can see why UAE is not on Iran's friendly list

"US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz confirmed Monday that Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system was used to shoot down Iranian missiles targeting the United Arab Emirates, becoming the first government official to publicly verify that the equipment was deployed and used in the UAE during the recent fighting."
