King Charles rumoured to be preparing to hand over the throne to Prince William
Just a rumour so take that into account
"Prince William may become the next king of England sooner than anticipated.
According to a Monday, March 2, post on journalist Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack, King Charles III — who has been living with an undisclosed form of cancer — is getting ready to hand the throne down to his son, 43, within the next year, sources said.
“The institution is preparing emotionally, even if the paperwork hasn’t caught up,” a longtime aide told Shuter, adding that the Prince of Wales is “already king unofficially” in “many ways” due to his intricate involvement in the monarchy.
Shortly after Charles, 77, ascended the throne following Queen Elizabeth II’s death, he was diagnosed with cancer in 2024 — and Shuter’s sources cite health concerns as a reason for William to take over sooner rather than later.
Still, a senior courtier said, “The transition will look measured and dignified.”"

One thing I will say about the Royal family is that although they lead a gilded life, sometimes I gotta feel sorry for them. When you think about it, almost everybody else who lives a public life (eg politicians, actors, singers etc) all CHOSE to do that. The Royal family didn't. They are simply born and we tell them that they are special and we are going to stick them in a big palace and we get to know every detail of their lives whether they like it or not.

This might be the best thing he can do to put a new face on the British royal family and put the Andrew - Fergie drama to bed.

Good point. It could be more to do with distancing the throne from the whole Andrew/Fergie thing

Royal families in the 21st century are so outdated and unnecessary
