What an absolute mess !! Its one thing to give the importers their money back but as you say, what about the consumers who've already paid the tariffs ??? There is going to be thousands of law suits in response to this

And to make it even worse, tariffs didn't shrink the US trade deficit. It actually grew in 2025 !! All Trump has achieved with these tariffs is to drive the rest of the world closer to China

That's true. It will be easy for the importer because he will have an invoice showing the tariff paid but if a consumer paid more for something, then they wont have a receipt showing how much of the increased price was down to tariffs.
