Let me explain about "categories" on WordPress

Preferably in a child theme so theme updates won't wipe it out. It takes just a few minutes to do a child theme and it can eliminate future surprises.

It's easy, all you need to create is a style.css and a functions.php file, stick 'em in a folder and activate the theme. Any changes that you make to style and functions you'll make in the child theme. That way if your theme updates your changes won't be overwritten. WordPress will load your child theme in addition to your parent theme and anything located in the child will override the parent. Also if you want to override your header, footer, 404, or whatever you just place a corresponding file in the child (using the same the directory tree as in the parent) and that file will be used instead.

It's two files in a folder, a few lines of code, that's it. Here are the instructions on how to do a child theme:

I already added the category filter for you. Any changes you might want to make to style you can just add after the header in your child style file. It'll add to or override what's in the parent

Actually I'm just a hack that enjoys what she does. I can be notoriously cheap, so I learn by necessity. lol. Everything I need to learn I find on the web for free. I just ask google and go from there. Reading tutorials, trial and error. It's my version of having fun! I rather hunt down how to do something then do what I should be doing to make more money. It's damn near a shortcoming.
