Amongst features such as improved RCS messaging encryption, the latest iOS 26.4 beta has added age verification for the first time. For now, it's present in the UK beta because the country's Online Safety Act requires it.

Apple's implementation is not part of how the UK uses the act to mandate that adult sites verify users' ages. It's instead another aspect of how parents can already limit their children to age-appropriate apps on the iPhone.

Ultimately, the age-verification APIs will be exposed to websites, but that hasn't happened yet. "

It would be great if we could somehow read the users age from the browser string. That would solve everything and save users having to age verify over and over again for each individual website.

They couldn't put the users actual age as I bet that would be against the EU data protection act (effectively you would be broadcasting personal information about a user to any site that wants to read it). But maybe they could put an "over 18 ??" - YES/NO flag

If you get age verified on your Iphone then sites should accept it and stop asking for age verification, this simplifies surfing and downloading content, I think it's a good plan.

I rather Apple does it and sites accept their age verification than having to go through it one individual sites, Apple wil have a more robust and secure means than giving your ID to every Tom Dick and Harry who runs a site.
