China bans hidden door handles

China has banned hidden door handles for all new cars sold starting January 1st 2027, hope this means cars will have real door handles every where.Fucking things are inconvenient and uncalled for.

I believe Tesla started the retractable/hidden door handles with the Model S, I never liked it and now that China has said enough is enough car manufacturers will restart putting normal door handles. I can not see 2 types of models from the same car manufacturers one with flush door handles and one with regular ones for China.

They look nice but in an accident I can see why they are a problem especially when the electrical system or battery is damaged.

Now ban those screens and put back physical buttons for the hvac, radio and basic functions.

They look cool but regular style door handles work much easier for me. These electric ones you have to swipe your hand or touch the shit then they pop out, you have to grab the corner of them, too much work for no reason. Oh and the safety issue makes total sense to me.
