Good for her not letting a minor issue stop her from doing what she likes.

" Michaela Benthaus, a 33-year-old German aerospace and mechatronics engineer at the European Space Agency, just became the first wheelchair user ever to travel past the Kármán Line — a common demarcation for outer space that lies 100 kilometers (62 miles) above sea level.

Her history-making trip aboard a Blue Origin New Shepard capsule took flight on Saturday morning, lifting off from the company’s launch facilities near Van Horn, Texas. "

You are not going to walk a lot in a small space craft so it really is not a big deal being in a wheel chair.

I do not get why she would do that apart to be the first woman in a wheelchair to go out to space. For all practical and safety reasons I think it is futile. You want the strongest fittest people in space who can handle tasks and emergencies. What's next wheel chair bound miners digging out coal?

But whatever.
