it's a linux distribution based on arch linux. optimised for web developers, but good for anyone i think - just replace neovim with sublime text or whichever editor you prefer.

Years ago I woke up one new years day and my desktop would not load, I couldn't find any store open to buy one so borrowed an old pc from a friend who was running Ubuntu, I actually got used to it after a few days but on the 3rd of January when the stores opened I got my first MacBook and have fallen in love with macs every since.

omarchy is better than macos, it’s exactly the same setup DHH, the king of geeks, uses. but doesn’t work well on apple silicon… yet.3ric wrote: ↑November 18th, 2025, 8:15 pmWhy replace the Apple OS with Linux any major reason?Farang wrote: ↑November 11th, 2025, 1:15 amit's a linux distribution based on arch linux. optimised for web developers, but good for anyone i think - just replace neovim with sublime text or whichever editor you prefer.

i do have another machine running omarchy, but its not as shiny as my macbook so macos is my daily os for now. apple really are great at locking people into their ecosystem. take the magic mouse, for example, it's far from being the best mouse and still i use it... because it's pretty and it's black and it matches the macbook so well
