It is quite astonishing that New York the center of world business, Wall Street, a great city of wealth and investment banks elected a Muslim socialist as mayor. The fact that New York is the biggest Jewish community of any city outside of Israel tells me a lot. It seems against conventional thinking. People are not inherently racist or vote based on preconceived ideas or loyalties. The people of New York voted for a guy who offered them something different. Whether you like him or his vision for New York is not my point, I find it interesting that people vote for the message not ideology.

In many ways I see a similarity between him and the president, they both ran on change that resonated with the public.

Let's see how he does for New Yorkers. They put their trust in him and I hope he delivers the things he promised them.

Forthcoming legislation led by Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., is called the Moving American Money Distant from Anti-National Interests Act, or the "MAMDANI Act" for short.
