When I read yesterday his family statement that he had stopped getting treatment for his brain cancer, I did not say anything but knew the end was near. He was an American hero, no matter what side of the political spectrum you are, he has passed away today at the age of 81.
May he be in peace now.
RIP Senator John McCain

Whether you agreed or not with Senator McCain's political views, you have to watch this 1 minute clip of him when he was running against then candidate Barack Obama. This is so honorable I am lost for words. It is the day I realized this man is a real person not a 2 faced politician, and since then I have respected him.

He was one of the few decent politicians we had. He tried to do the right thing, regardless of partisan politics. I might of not always agreed with his views, but I've always respected him for standing up for what he believed in. The man put country above self and party. RIP

You said it better than I did heidiHoe. He was one of the last politicians who cared about his country, what is right or wrong even when running for president. Heck I'm not even an American but I follow politics and he was a decent man. Maybe that is what I should say, he was a decent man who put country before his personal or party gains.HeidiHoe wrote: ↑August 26th, 2018, 3:37 pmHe was one of the few decent politicians we had. He made his mark in history and his biggest day to me was when he turned his thumb down in the Senate, that was monumental.
He stopped the "Skinny repeal" of Obamacare.
