Hello I was not absent because of this earthquake I had my appendix removed , it was unplanned and spent a week in hospital, the operation went well I developed an infection, then took a few days off relaxing in bed. I am fine now.

My sister had an appendicitis and stayed on an iv with heavy duty antibiotics and pain killers, on the 3rd day they took it out, the bill for her 4 day stay at the hospital was $57,000. Lucky for her she had good health insurance form work, she ended up paying only $9200.

What is the point o the appendix all I ever hear is it got inflamed and had to be treated or surgically removed, if we can live without it then why have it in the first place.

It is part of our immune system it holds the "good bacteria" and when you need them it lets them out. You can live without it but need it in reality.
