Wordpress hosts

My sites are mostly WP sites, when I click on them and my server is dedicated I am paying $127 each month on time, they take time to load. When I go to other peoples' sites just for example this forum, they load much faster. I click on the blog site here it is the same, it takes time for the site to open up, is there some magic or problem with my host or are wordpress sites slower to load.

If the bandwidth is not some third world crap and the server is decent it has no reason to be slow

How much RAM is in the server and how many concurrent visitors hit your site during peak hours?

8Gb is not much for the prize your paying, between that and the traffic on your site that may be the reason for the slower load time, the bandwidth your on might also influence your sites speed. what kind of bandwidth is the server on ?

The question is; how much ram does a server need to load sites fast

Find the root cause of the slowdown, then worry about upgrading servers...

How many plugins are you running? If you don't need it, loose it. You could minify css, js, move scripts to footer when possible. Are you keeping things clean? Perhaps optimize.

I know I said keep plugins to minimum... but here's a plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-optimize/

You're paying a boat load if that's a VPS. I pay just shy of $40 for 8GB RAM, 240GB storage cPannel VPS at GoDaddy. Downside was I had to get it for 2 years to get the discount. I bit the bullet and made the commitment, couldn't pass that up.

I have 7 plugins in total on the main blogs, I am going to download that one and try it out, thank you for the heads up.

I asked my host last night they said it has 8 gigs ram, only 5 gigs are used.
It is a dedicated server according to my contract with them.
