https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp9415d53xkoThe US may require foreign nationals from certain countries to pay a $15,000 (£11,300) deposit for a tourist or business visa.
The 12-month pilot programme aims to curb visa overstays "or where screening and vetting information is considered deficient", according to a notice published by the US state department.
It does not specify which countries are covered by the pilot programme.
The US administration has taken several steps to further President Donald Trump's agenda of stemming illegal immigration.
US may require up to $15,000 deposit to visit is a brilliant idea

I see a couple of potential issues with this, a person travelling to the States for a concert, fashion show, sporting event might not have $15,000 to put up. Or a family of 4 where will they get up to $60,000 to go on vacation. Not everyone is a billionaire you know. This can only hurt tourism and local business who make a living off the hospitality industry. One last point whether these visitors put up the money or not, when you apply for a visa to any country the whole point is to screen out undesirable and bad elements before granting them a visa.
