Why is DOJ trying to suppress Epstein files ?

Something really stinks about these Epstein files and its really causing a major rift in Trump's MAGA support base

First Trump said he WOULD release the Epstein files and shortly after, Pam Bondi confirmed that the "client list was sitting on her desk waiting to be reviewed". Then a few days later Musk makes his infamous post about "Trump is in the Epstein files" but nobody really believed that until a few weeks later when the DOJ say's that the list "Doesn't exist and no more information would be released". That set off a major storm with high profile officials in BOTH parties demanding for the list to be released.

Then a few days ago, Trump contradicted his Attorney General Pam Bondi and said the list "did exist but it was all lies made up by Obama, Biden, Hillary Clinton etc to try and hurt Trump". Well if that's true then why didn't they release it during Biden's administration ??? It would have stopped Trump in his tracks. You don't go to all the trouble of making up a fake client list and then not use it !

So Trump switched tact and said that the list was "Boring" and he couldn't understand why people kept talking about it. He even denounced his MAGA supporters who believe in the list calling them "Stupid people that I don't want supporting me anymore" !!!

Now fast forward to today when the Wall St Journal released an article about a letter Trump allegedly wrote to Epstein 20 years ago talking about a "secret" that they both shared. There is no way that WSJ would have published that article if they weren't completely assured about their facts and their sources because they knew what was coming next. Sure enough, 12 hours later Trump filed a defamation law suit against the WSJ and Rupert Murdoch personally for a whopping $20 billion !! The first time in US history that a sitting president has filed a law suit against a news media company

To be clear, the $20 billion figure was to simply make sure it hit the headlines because there is NO way Trump can claim he lost $12 billion in the 12 hours between the article being published and the law suit being filed. Also, its almost impossible to prove defamation against a public figure and Trump is the most public figure of them all

Even Musk has now jumped back in repeating his claims that Trump is trying to cover this whole thing up but it simply wont go away

Confused ????? I know I am but something really stinks about this whole saga

Why are they going to such lengths to avoid releasing these files ??? Not only the democrats but a lot of the MAGA base are pushing for it and many of them are pissed off at the way this is being handled. Trump is desperately trying to distract from the story but it's just not going away
