First of all I am always glad for all parties when a war ends. Second point I'll believe it when I see it. Third what changed.
Israel and ran hate each other and Israel started this war to rid Iran of their nuclear material and infrastructure, where is the 400Kg of uranium that Iran reportedly had and what are the terms of this cease fire. Is Iran going to give up on enriching uranium, is it going to be using it at low levels for peaceful energy production and medical use?
What happened to trump and Netanyahu saying they want regime change in Iran?
I am missing some thing here.

If you ask me, this had nothing to do with nuclear weapons. I think this was about the opportunity to strike at Iran for the October 7th attacks. If you think about it, Israel has pretty much destroyed Hamas. Then they decimated Hezbollah with those exploding pagers. The US has been bombing the hell out of the Houthis and with Syria out of the picture, Iran was left severely weakened without any of its proxy forces to protect it.TheButcher wrote: ↑June 23rd, 2025, 10:34 pmFirst of all I am always glad for all parties when a war ends. I think Trump and Netanyahu saw this as a golden opportunity to hit Iran and they used the whole "nuclear bomb threat" to justify it to the rest of the world. Just like Bush and Blair did in Iraq

I agree with that analysis. Another thought I have is instead of trying to topple the regime in one shot do it in stages, there were two hits last year on Iran where Israel degraded their air defenses, and now this, the next time they will get rid of the government and it'll probably become another Iraq or Libya, a failed state of terrorism and mayhem.tacnet wrote: ↑June 24th, 2025, 3:04 amIf you ask me, this had nothing to do with nuclear weapons. I just do not see how Trump and Netanyahu suddenly accepted Iran having uranium enrichment and missiles, that was supposedly the reason for Israel attacking Iran. both men said they wanted regime change and that has not happened. This war is going to happen again and the final knock out punch will be delivered on Iran. My 2 cents.

The president is a straight talker and said what he was thinking, this is why he is the greatest president we have had.

Good for him, when the president of the USA goes out of his way to make 2 countries at war stop the killing, they obviously agreed to the cease fire, then both should abide by it. So what if does not act like a slick politician use words than mean shit, he said what he meant. It's not about liking Trump or not, he wants these two countries to do what they agreed and not carry on the killing.greatpornlinks wrote: ↑June 24th, 2025, 1:03 pmThe president is a straight talker and said what he was thinking, this is why he is the greatest president we have had.

You don't make peace by jumping in on one side of a war and bombing the other side. All he's done is given Iran and the Palestinians a whole bunch more grievances that WILL come back and bite us in the futureDeSexGuide wrote: ↑June 24th, 2025, 9:06 pmGive him the Nobel peace prize this was a major accomplishment
He could have made peace if he had not walked away from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018. That's why we are in this mess in the first place

That's exactly what Bush said when he went into Iraq to destroy their WMDs and save the world from nuclear war. And look at what happened. No WMDs anywhere, decades of slaughter giving rise to groups like Isis and a Muslim world that now hates AmericaDeSexGuide wrote: ↑June 24th, 2025, 9:44 pmYou realize Israel is our ally and he went in demolished Irans nuclear machine, it saved the world from nuclear war.tacnet wrote: ↑June 24th, 2025, 9:41 pmYou don't make peace by jumping in on one side of a war and bombing the other side. Nobody wants Iran to have a nuclear weapon but the way to do it was the JCPOA (that's the Iran nuclear deal signed in 2015). It gave Iran billions of sanctions relief if they stopped their nuclear program and opened themselves up to international inspections. But Trump walked away from the deal in 2018 despite all the other signatories (China, Russia, France, UK, Germany) warning him not to. 2 years later Iran started up its nuclear program again
This is NOT peace. This is a ceasefire and there will almost certainly be repercussions in the future

So true, the JCPOA was not perfect but they had inspectors from the IAEA inside those facilities and from all I have heard they were complying and not enriching uranium any where near the limits they started to enrich after Trump pulled out. Actually if my memory serves me correctly they tried for about another year to keep the deal in place with the other signatories hoping America would come back to it. Once they saw it is a no go they said heck with this.
I hate to be negative because I want the cease fire to hold and no more war, but I doubt Israel all of a sudden said okay let's be friends. Netanyahu's goal since he became prime minister has been to drag the United States into a conflict with Iran and finish off their nuclear program and regime. Once Israel builds up it's interceptor inventory they will go for it one more time. i hope not but that is my instinctive feeling.

Let me say one other point, it's kind of ironic that Israel has nukes, ius not a party to the non-proliferation treaty (NPT) does not allow any inspections by the IAEA and bombs Iran that from all accounts Iran does not have nukes and is a party to the NPT and IAEA .and the rationale is we don't want them to have nukes.
What has this latest war made hardliners in Iran think, hell if we had nukes they would have not attacked us. I for one hope Iran never gets nukes but I think it is possible they might develop or buy some.

Yep. Especially when their closest ally, Putin has got thousands. You can bet that Iran (and probably North Korea) will be pushing Putin for nukes in return for all the support they are giving him in Ukraine. And it wouldn't hurt Putin to have a couple more nuclear armed countries on his side. After all, he's already condemned Trumps strike on Iran.TheButcher wrote: ↑June 24th, 2025, 10:26 pmI for one hope Iran never gets nukes but I think it is possible they might develop or buy some.
As I said, this is NOT peace !
