An update:

"Court temporarily reinstates Trump's tariffspublished at 15:32
15:32Breaking

Tariffs imposed by the Trump administration that were struck down by a trade court on Wednesday will remain in place while the case makes its way through the courts.

That means most of President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs have temporarily been reinstated, as a court considers an appeal filed by the White House.

This comes after three federal court judges blocked Trump's global tariffs, saying the president had overstepped his authority. "

The trade court judges are right !! Trump doesn't have the power to launch all these tariffs. That power is given to Congress

Trump used executive orders to launch these tariffs. Executive orders are only supposed to be used in times of emergency (for example in times of war). Remember the first tariffs (against Mexico, Canada and China) were justified because Trump said there was a national emergency due to illegal immigrants and fentanyl coming into the country. Whether you agreed with that or not, you could at least see the logic behind it. But where is the emergency with all these other countries that Trump has slapped tariffs on ???

The whole point of having congress decide on tariffs is so you don't get these wild on again, off again swings in tariffs where nobody knows what's happening from one day to the next

PS. Two of the 3 trade judges were appointed by conservatives. One by Donald Trump himself !

All I know is prices are higher this year than last year, if it is tariffs or inflation I can not tell you exactly but I go the store and what i used to get for $300 a week costs me at least $370-$380 now.

In theory Trump is right, let's bring back manufacturing, in practice prices will go up.

In the long term it will make America more self sufficient and not prone to supply chain limitations.

More car sales will be hurt

" Bentley has halted imports to the U.S. on "stock" that would sit at dealerships waiting to be sold, according to Automotive News.
Bentley will continue to import cars directly ordered by customers and said pricing for U.S. models is guaranteed to remain unchanged on orders placed through the end of June.
Bentley had around 378 vehicles left in its dealership stock at the beginning of June."

I can buy what I want, but do not prefer not to be a
"Luxury hoarder" or "self-indulgent spender".

More important things in the world than spending ridiculously.
