It is a simple sentence but so true and profound. At least the Russians and Ukrainians are talking again after 3 years. Will it lead any where who knows but without communicating there is no way to end this or any conflict. When Russian president said last Sunday let's talk directly, he never said he would be there, it is not how diplomacy works. First the lower level delegates meet, then the ministers and finally when there is a substantive meeting of the minds the presidents meet. For all those who misquote Putin and claim he didn't show up you are full of shit. He is in the driving seat, he is winning this SMO without a shadow of a doubt, he has unilaterally announced 3 cease fires and now this offer to meet the Ukrainian side. Stop hindering any chance of peace and work with him to end this blood bath.

Innocent people are dying, even President Trump keeps saying he doesn't want Russians and Ukrainians dying, he has a heart and compassion for any body needlessly dying. Let's stop the killing. The facts on the ground are reality, make a peace deal and prevent more people dying and more of Ukrainian territory becoming Russia's. The fact is Russia is expanding and the sooner this stop more of Ukraine will be saved.

How hard is it to understand simple facts. When you are on the losing side you don't have the cards and you can not dictate the terms and conditions of the settlement. Ukraine has no cards and is still making outrageous and unrealistic demands from the Russians who have all the cards.

My friend President Putin never said he was going to be in Istanbul, he said he is extending an olive branch out to the Ukrainian side to meet on Thursday May 15th face to face and talk. The people who twist and turn his offer to meet and talk into him not showing up are not being truthful nor are they helping bring about
peace.

I said this in my previous post, presidents don't meet first, it is the lower level delegates then the guys higher up the chain of decision then the president.

Talking is a step towards coming to an understanding and peace (hopefully) and the end of people dying.

I'll make this very short and not to offend anyone, Ukraine is getting their asses handed to them and the Russian president is making offers of unilateral cease fires and offers to talk, they should jump on these offers. They are not doing them selves any favours delaying the inevitable. More people dying and more territory being lost.

All the money, weapons, ammunition, intelligence given to Ukraine has not helped, cut the losses, every minute costs Ukraine in lives and land.

I am quoting what the Russians declared at the outset of this conflict, Russia did not declare war on Ukraine but a special military operation. If they had declared a war i would call it as such. The laws in Russia, civil liberties, rights have not been suspended which would be the case if they did declare war, martial law has not been declared. I have not read anywhere the people are being conscripted and having to serve, their military is still a voluntarily one.

I know all this must be extremely hard for any Ukrainian but look at past conflicts, the victor takes it all and makes the rules of peace. Look at Syria, Assad was taken by surprise, his military collapsed or ran away and the new regime took over. It's not pretty it's not fair or right but that's how it is. Stop the death and loss of territory, this thing call it what you like is not going to end any better for Ukraine by dragging it out.
