Another car you will not buy in the States thanks to the 125% tariffs imposed on Chinese imports. I've driven an S90 and is a rather nice car to be honest.

"Report: Volvo to Discontinue S90 Sedan in U.S. Due to Tariffs

The Volvo S90 sedan, built in China, will be discontinued after this year due to the recently imposed tariffs on imported vehicles."

And here come the exemptions after the tariffs were paused for 90 days :)

"US President Donald Trump's administration has exempted smartphones, computers and some other electronic devices from reciprocal tariffs, including the 125% levies imposed on Chinese imports.

US Customs and Border Patrol published a notice late on Friday explaining the goods would be excluded from Trump's 10% global tariff on most countries and the much larger Chinese import tax.

The move comes after concerns from US tech companies that the price of gadgets could skyrocket, as many of them are made in China.

This is the first significant exemption of any kind in Trump's tariffs on China, with one trade analyst describing it as a "game changer scenario"."

What is the point of tariffs if you start exempting certain sectors and goods?

Shit's getting real, read this about China telling it's airlines not to take delivery or buy Boeing airplanes and parts.

"The Chinese government has told the country's domestic airlines to stop accepting deliveries of Boeing jets as a trade war between the world's two largest economies escalates, Bloomberg News reports.

China is also instructing its carriers to stop buying airline parts and other components from U.S. companies, according to Bloomberg, which cited people familiar with the situation.

Boeing declined to comment. The aviation giant's shares fell $2.59, or 1.6%, to $156.74 in morning trading."

China has also stopped the shipment of rare earth minerals to the USA. This will affect everything from smart phones, robots, drones, cars and even the F-35

China controls over 90% of the world's rare earth

Did you see President T said he might go for 245% tariffs against China because they added more tariffs themselves?

This is rapidly escalating from a trade war to a full trade embargo and China isn't negotiating. Instead they are seeking trade deals with other countries around the world, notably South East Asia and Europe.

Trump seems to be living in the 60s when manufacturing was the bed rock of the American economy. But these days the American economy is based on services, especially technology, online and banking services which make up around 80% of their GDP. There is NO WAY he is going to be able to compete with China on manufacturing when they have over a billion people that are prepared to work for peanuts

I love it when people think they are smart, when they really are not.

Living in the 60s my ass.
