I back up my blogs this way.

I do not copy the wordpress files just the themes I use, and any changed pages I have done on them.I have a folder on my "desktop"
and subfolders "themes" and one for "modified files"

I have a copy of things in my D drive that I want to keep on Amazon drive cloud that I do not sinc. Shit's been known to happen when you sinc. I guess you could call it cold storage. Accounting files and things in process I keep in google drive folder that does sinc to google drive cloud. I also keep a copy of the accounting files on my D drive. Like I said, shit can happen when you sinc.

I do a weekly server backup and do a nightly wp backup on each wp app. I just keep one each on the server. Every so often when I think of it I download the most recent wp backups to my D drive in case shit happens and I don't notice for a couple days. Not perfect but it'll do. I keep a pretty good eye on things. If shit hits the fan I should be ok, if not I guess I have some rebuilding to do :)

So basically I have a set of files on my pc and another set on a cloud or server somewhere. I've lost things before in harddrive crashes and learned the hard way.

What about getting a hosting account at Godaddy for backing up?

Backing up to the same server is not the answer. You have to back up to an offsite server or drive.
