What goes up has to come down, so the cycle repeats, especially when it comes to real estate prices. From all I have read the real estate market has been going up hard in America for quite a few years, so a correction is quite possible soon. 10 year cycles are pretty much a given, we had the major meltdown in 2008-2009 so it's kind of due.
If you can ride the next down turn out it's pretty much a given when prices start going up they will go higher than today. Real estate always goes up higher , it's a given.

We survived the last recession so we'll make it out of this one too.

A lot of people ended up losing their homes, cars, savings in the process.

GW and Obama handled the last one quite well, let's see if Trump can do the same if it happens.
