I feel in my bones Iron Mike deserves to win at 58, he will go down in history as the champion he is.
GO MIKE

I had to watch 3 other matches before Paul and Tyson, four hours to be exact. Okay I have a lot to comment on so here goes. First I find boxing a cruel and inhumane activity where you pit two people against each other to smash them for others to make money. Second it is not for older people, Tyson was a top notch champion in his prime and by that I mean when he was younger. Third you quit at your peak of performance in any activity not continue until your odds are not in your favour.
That out the way it was sad and painful to watch Tyson make a spectacle in the squared circle. He showed his age, he was no where near as agile and fast as in his past and he was panting when he was moving around. None of which is his fault, boxing is not for 58 year olds , just as you can not beat cubic inches in ICE cars, age and boxing are the same.
Why he did it, I have no idea, maybe he wanted to prove to himself he was still fighting fit, maybe for the money but it was the wrong decision to get back in the ring at his age. Honestly Jake Paul could have hurt Mike Tyson if he went for it, I am glad he did not do that and he showed a lot of class in the last seconds of the 8th round by recognizing and paying homage to the once great boxer.

I have to agree with Butcher. Why Tyson would fight at his age is beyond me. But then again, Ali carried on boxing well past his prime too. There must be something about these guys that makes them unable to stop
One thing is for sure, there is no way Jake Paul could have beaten Mike Tyson in his hey day

I ended up watching with my hubby , Mike looked weak and tired walking to the ring, I had a bad feeling as soon as I saw that. He threw a few good punches in the 1st 2 rounds and then seemed out of breath. Age plays a part he did well to go all 8 rounds against Jake who is half his age.

Honestly after thinking about it, I have to come to the only logical conclusion, for the money. I have heard rumors that the contract had certain clauses, I have no idea if that is true and what the terms of the contract were. Some have suggested to get the full payout Tyson had to go the 8 rounds, whether it is true or not I have no idea. I still think it was a mistake, you go down in history based on your accomplishments not fight till you need crutches to stand on.tacnet wrote: ↑November 16th, 2024, 10:37 amI have to agree with Butcher.
