I picked up a new desk and chair from a yard sale yesterday
So I was driving yesterday afternoon and there was a yard sale, plenty of cars and I stopped to see what was for sale, they had a desk and swivel chair for $50 bucks, I asked the guy selling if he wanted $50 for each or for both, he said both. I'm sitting on the chair and working on that desk right this minute. I tell you the the desk is like brand new the chair has 2 scuff marks but is just as nice. I might stop at yard sales from now on.

Been there myself, I stop at garage sales to see what there is, once in a while I buy a nice deal.

I picked up a desk at a yard sale several years ago. I no longer have it. It was an old metal desk, the type that was used in government offices back in the 70s 80s, an ugly SOB! I guess it reminded me of the days when I was a supply paper pusher at Dover Air Force Base.

True & some times people have bought some rare antique pictures and odds and ends at yard sales.

I thought the same exact thing, I myself have had great bargains in garage sales, I've bought computers, sporting goods, an exaggerated amount of toys and many other things. I think the thing with yard sales is the people selling are in that everything goes super cheap mindset. If you asked to buy that desk and chair from the same person in a different moment in time not as part of the yard sale they probably would have tried selling it for a higher price. Theory being that the mindset of a garage sale drives low prices.

There are very few yard sales in my area, the place is mostly condominium buildings. I wonder what sort of stuff you can find at garage sales in Beverly Hills hmmm....
