Not sure Russia wants to mess with the US to be honest, maybe Putin sent that guy to talk the Iranians from doing anything so as to prevent a US-Russia stand off.

Think about it. Russia is embroiled in a war in Ukraine and is forced to become allies with a country they would they would never previously have had any kind of relations with, namely Iran. What better way to distract the US than to get your new ally to start a war with Israel ???

There have been tensions in the middle east for decades but they have never spilled over into an all out war like this. Then out of nowhere, Iran's proxy Hamas suddenly launches an attack on Israel. An attack that seems to have had no other purpose but to start a war. Hamas wasn't seeking territory or resources, their sole purpose in the October 7th attack was to start a war with Israel.

Now the US has two wars to worry about and Putin's buddy Trump can blame them both on the Biden administration. Putin is a master at geo politics and right now, all the cards seem to be falling in his favor and it wouldn't surprise me one bit to learn that he is behind the whole thing

I don't see Israel using nukes, they have more than enough conventional military capability to strike back hard. What must be going through the calculations is how many Iranian missiles got past the air defenses. It appears some hit their targets or at a minimum hit the ground intact. If I was planning the Israeli counter strike what I would ask is can the Iranians hit back with more of these weapons and what else they might use.


Interesting thought about October 7th but hard to see why Hamas would jeopardize their power for Ukraine, but who knows.
