You can never say you are cancer free, it can come back. My aunt had breast cancer surgery, chemo and radiation and it re-occured 9 years later.You have to get checked regularly, in Kate's case I hope it never comes back no one needs cancer even once in their life time.

Why the secrecy either say what cancer you had or stop taklking about it in half measures. Your doctor does not say , yo you have cancer but I am not going to tell where and what type.
