I just went ahead closed all comments on my blogs, the absolute spam comments was waiting too much time every day, do you think I did right or it helps for traffic and se.

Comments done right lead to a discussion which in tun leads to more regular visitors to a site, in real life comments do open up adult blogs to spam bots.

Unless your blog has some type of social or similar element (maybe an advice column, etc) comments most likely will be a waste of time. Most people prefer to keep their porn habits under wraps unless there's some type of inventive to do otherwise. What you'll end up getting is spam and more spam.

Also, in this post FOSTA world if you open comments you better keep a damn close eye on them!

It is worth it to me so I deal with the spam comments. My regular surfers post some nice comments. Those comments attract more views from the WP comments rss feed I have.

I have them open on some of my older blogs but I close them on all new blogs I make.
