what's the latest fashion/rend on using a warning page for sites, is it yeah or nay?
Stop looking for reps if they don't care why waste your time and traffic at their program, fuck that.

many sites seem to be adding warning pages these days

some have a pop-up that when clicked on verifying age 18+, the pop-up doesn't come back up again

soon, probably, there will be some sort of "mark of the beast" universal porn pass that surfers will have to buy in order to prove age

I'm in 2 minds but with all the crap going legally around the world I'm very likely to rename https:///www.sponsorchat.com/index1.html to index, just to be safe but have not convinced myself yet.

Cookie based popup script with expiry date. I have a freebie copy of it somewhere. Clean your cookies or use incognito and the popup will be back. Warning pages were a must have in the early days (circa 95-00) the days of COPA. Doesn't really do shit to keep minors out. Better to label your sites RTA. Of course it's up to parents to use the blocking software that's out there.

Soon is right... as soon as the brits get their shit together and my guess is other countries might follow suit. Kinda reminds me of the old AVS system. Things go in cycles.

Not that it means much but it's a good stab at warning people what the site has to offer.

True but your title and description should give it away don't you think? Plus your site is most likely categorized adult on the web by all the critters out there that crawl it. Add RTA labels, way more effective and the responsible thing to do.

For heidihoe: how effective do you believe RTA is for covering your ass legally for an adult site?

Not everything is done for the sole purpose of CYA, sometimes it's done because it's the right thing to do. Labels are more effective than a warning page/popup because it can block access to the site (providing filtering software is employed by the user) while all a warning page/popup does is elicit a yes/no response to grant access.

If you make your money in adult your ass will be exposed to some extend regardless of what you do. Do the best you can to mitigate the risk and get used to it.
