What is the logic of trying to get Russian land when the russians are taking over Ukraine why not defend their own country?

A Russian advance toward Pokrovsk casts doubts on Ukraine’s hopes that its cross-border offensive will prompt Moscow to scale back attacks elsewhere.

Perhaps its because you live an ocean away but I really cant understand why you support a murderous thug like Putin ? This asshole used chemical weapons just 30 miles from my house in Salisbury. He used deadly radioactive Palanium in London to murder litvinenko. He's used poison gas in Syria and he even threatened to murder our prime minister Boris Johnson......and your supporting him ??

I can assure you that Europe will NOT back down to Putin. Just look at Sweden as an example. A country that has been fiercly neutral for the last 200 years (they stayed out of WW1 and WW2) but since Putins invasion of Ukraine, they have not only joined NATO but they are also supplying massive amounts of military aid to Ukraine. Ontop of that, the 3 baltic states Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are considering putting troops into Ukraine. Note this would be outside of NATO and therefore not be subject to article 5. Germany is planning to setup air defences in Poland to create a no fly zone over western Ukraine and Japan has just signed a 10 year pledge to support Ukraine

Im telling you, even if Trump gets in the rest of the world will NOT back to a thug like Putin.

I don't particularly like and definitely do not support Putin, I just watch analyze and post my conclusions based on reality not what the mainstream fake news writes.
Europe has been a vassal state of America since the end of world war 2 and continues down that obedient path. When America says jump the British PM says how high.

Watch Brian berletic of The New Atlas

He explains it so well, this Kursk incursion by Ukraine was the dumbest thing they could do, they are accelerating their demise and capitulation.

If you think that the whole of Europe is standing up to Putin just because Biden told them to then you really dont understand the threat that Putin poses

You are sitting an ocean away so it doesn't affect you so much but here in Europe, we KNOW the threat Putin poses. If Russia had somehow invaded Canada, it would be like us telling you that you should give in, give up territory and make peace with him

I can assure you its NOT going to happen. Every sovereign European state has the right to choose its own path.

ok watch this video. It explains how Ukraine's invasion of Kursk has really pushed Russia onto the back foot and exposed their military as being nothing more than a paper tiger

Thats a very good question as obviously both sides partake in the propaganda war of information. Over estimating their successes and under estimating their losses. This is an inevitable consequence of any war

But I think there is one very telling factor here that no amount of miss information can get around. On paper, Russia has the 2nd biggest military in the world and they are attacking a tiny country around 1/3rd of its size that had no navy and practically no air force. In theory Russia should have steam rollered over Ukraine long before any western military aid could arrive, just as Putin had predicted

But this hasn't happened and the obvious question is WHY ???? I think this video explains it very well

The problem with this analysis is Russia never set out to conquer and take all of Ukraine. This is a war of attrition, Russia stated they will wear down the Ukrainian military and ability to attack Russia. They are not trying to gain territory, they want to make sure Ukraine is de-nazified, can not attack Russia and will not be part of nato. Russia is the largest country in the world they do not need more land. The other reason it is taking longer is Russia does not want to kill civilians or damage civilian infrastructure. You really need to stop wasting your time watching the BBC, Sky news and CNN, and look at more independent news channels online.

Russia is winning they are going to decide when this war is over and I am sure it will not be before they take Odessa and maybe a couple of other oblasts.

True. The world bank currently estimates it will cost $480 billion but the question is who is going to pay ???

If Putin wins, then he will have to rebuild Ukraine (or large parts of it). Remember he doesn't want to destroy Ukraine, he wants to make it part of Russia which means he will have to rebuild it whilst under heavy sanctions from the west and likely facing constant partisan attacks from within Ukraine

If he looses, then the west has already frozen around $300 billion of Russian foreign exchange reserves (mostly in Europe) which will go towards rebuilding Ukraine.

Either way, the bill will fall to Putin
