Stormy Daniels, the adult film actress who has made headlines for an alleged affair with Donald Trump, was arrested while performing Wednesday night at a Columbus, Ohio, strip club after allegedly having physical contact with patrons.

Daniels' lawyer Michael Avenatti in a Twitter post claimed the arrest "was politically motivated, and "reeks of desperation."

Police said Daniels was busted after allegedly touching three different undercover vice police officer during her performance at the Sirens club, in violation of state law barring anyone who is not a family member from touching a dancer who is either nude or semi-nude.

Court documents reportedly claim that Daniels, during her performance, forced faces of club customers into her breasts and used her exposed breast to smack their faces. She also allegedly fondled the breast of female customers.

The Columbus Police Department said in a statement posted to Twitter Thursday that the arrest was part of a "a long-term investigation into allegations of human trafficking, prostitution, along with other vice related violations." Two other individuals were arrested in connection with the investigation, according to the police.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was released on a $6,000 bail within hours of being arrested, Avenatti said on MSNBC on Thursday. He said Daniels would enter a not guilty plea and that she would not personally appear in court. She was arrested on three counts of misdemeanor sex offenses.

"This was a complete set up," Avenatti told the Associated Press. "it's absurd that law-enforcement resources are being spent to conduct a sting operation related to customers touching performers in a strip club in a non-sexual manner."

Avenatti told NBC News that he was of the understanding that there were multiple undercover vice officers in the club during Daniels' show. After the customer touched her, according to the attorney, those officers got up and arrested the performer on the spot.

Okay I saw this earlier online, a few observations. First guess what "patrons" at a strip club want more than anything else, the stripper ( especially a famous lady like Stormy ) to touch them or for them to touch her. If the story is correct so what if she touched them, you'd have to pay a hell of a lot of money to get touched by her in any other circumstance. They should be so lucky if it happened.

Second, Ohio has some weird laws, and from my understanding is not a porn or adult friendly state.

Third, and probably the most important question is how many dam under cover cops were at this place last night. If she supposedly came into contact with three I bet there must have been more. So why so many under cover cops in one strip club, I totally agree with her attorney Avenatti, this smells like a set up and nothing else.

Fourth, how much do you want to bet under cover cops on tax payers payroll go to strip clubs, enjoy what the see and call it work. Get these losers out on the street to catch murderers, rapists, child molesters, robbers and other criminals.

I hope and have a feeling this will get Stormy more exposure, publicity and more work, she deserves it, she's a very sweet and gorgeous lady.

Charges were dropped because of a weird law saying that freelancers are immune from the no touching law.. lol.
They're apparently trying to change that law here now, too..

Five Ohio police officers, including a commander, a lieutenant, a sergeant and two arresting officers, have been departmentally charged in connection with the arrest of porn star Stormy Daniels and two other women at a Columbus strip club last year.

Daniels -- whose real name is Stephanie Clifford – was arrested by vice unit officers at the Sirens Gentleman’s Club on July 11, 2018, along with fellow strippers Miranda Panda and Brittany Walters, on suspicion of sexually touching a patron while on stage, police said at the time.

The three women were charged with inappropriately touching and inappropriate acts with customers, some of whom were undercover Columbus police officers.

However, the criminal charges were dropped not long after the arrests when an internal investigation of more than 11,000 emails and over 30 hours of video determined that they were improperly arrested, according to Columbus ABC affiliate WSYX.

Police Chief Tom Quinlan said he made the decision to departmentally charge the five officers because they violated the Columbus Division of Police rules of conduct.

"From initially reviewing the facts surrounding Stormy's arrest, it was evident she was clearly targeted for a high profile arrest here," Chase Mallory, an attorney for Stormy Daniels, told WSYX. "So we are not surprised at all. I am surprised it took this long to seek discipline. But, nonetheless, we are happy that they are."

Daniels filed a federal civil lawsuit against the Ohio officers involved in her strip club arrest in January alleging they were pro-Donald Trump and that they arrested her purely for political reasons based on allegations she made of an affair with Trump before he ran for president in 2016.

She is seeking $1 million in compensatory damages and more than $1 million in punitive damages from the Columbus Police Department.

The five police officers could now face a range of disciplinary options including a reprimand, suspension, demotion or termination. However, due to pending litigation and a federal criminal investigation into the now-disbanded vice unit, the Columbus Police said it will not be releasing any more information on the case.

The Columbus Division of Police said in a statement that, in spite of the recent developments surrounding the five officers, this is “not reflective of the good work the overwhelming majority of officers and supervisors do every day.”

Daniels' celebrity rose in the wake of the 2016 presidential election when it came out that Trump's then-personal attorney, Michael Cohen, negotiated a hush money payment with Daniels for $130,000 in the weeks prior to Election Day.

The strip club appearance in Columbus was part of a nationwide tour marketed off the affair she says she had with the president in 2006.
