UK general election will be a historic win for Labour
Finally a general election not Conservative prime ministers being replaced by their own party. Everybody expects a massive Labour victory tonight, some polls have predicted a 210 majority. Rishi Sunak his band of merry Conservatives will be out of office by tomorrow. Sir Keir Rodney Starmer KCB KC will become PM no doubt about it.
Honestly not a fan of Starmer even a scarecrow could win tonight against Sunak so if I was him I would not get all excited that they want him in as PM, the people have just about had it with Sunak and his Tory predecessors, and just want change.
Let's see how labour will do for the next 5 years.

Totally agree with you. Not a fan of Starmer but I think this is the last conservative government we will see in decadesTheButcher wrote: ↑July 4th, 2024, 8:06 amFinally a general election not Conservative prime ministers being replaced by their own party. I also think this is a bit of payback for what Sunak did to Boris. Love him or hate him, Boris has still got a lot of support out there and they are not happy with the way Sunak brought him down

If that pans out, apparently that would be the worst result for the conservatives EVER....period. !! That must be pretty embarrassing for SunakTheButcher wrote: ↑July 4th, 2024, 5:20 pmBBC.com exit polls are predicted ( no surporise) a big win for Labour as of 18 minutes ago. Time to go get a drink, it is a clear now Labour kicked out the Tories. Immigration, post-Brexit policies, economy and cost of living all led to this. Will the new government be cable to fix things or will it be more of the same, I will wait and see. They really can not do that much worse than these guys we have now.

I think this does highlight a major flaw with the UK electoral system. For the last 4 years, the UK has had a prime minister that NOBODY voted for. Not only that, he LOST his own party's leadership election and yet still ended up in the top job
This doesn't happen in say America where they vote for the President and the vice President on the same ticket
In my opinion, Sunak should never have been in the job in the first place. Regardless of his policies, he lacks the charisma that would appeal to the masses

Today the news was all about Labour getting a 170 seat majority. They have no excuse for being blocked by the opposition parties in any legislation they want to pass which is every governments dream come true.

Faces in various offices but that is about it. Labour since Tony Blair moved closer to the centre right and not much different than the Tories. PM Starmer already came out said the Ukraine policy will not change.
