And we had one other advantage - porn online at that time was still a novelty and bright and shiny - everyone wanted it and we rode that big wave for a good 10 years or more for some, now a days we just need to catch the next wave, I'm sure something will come along, unfortunately you have to be fast and be the first to take advantage of it, but the way things are it's new today and old news a week from now, sometimes even tomorrow.

Skype no icq for years,I still have it on my devices but no one ever messages me ,they all go with Skype.

I think it was MSN messenger and AOL at that time that people steered towards, MSN had a bit of everything and AOL owned the internet game for a while.
