Discussing cybersquatting

I just wanted to explain what cybersquatting is, and the best way to do it is by pasting the definition from Wikipedia.

"Cybersquatting (also known as domain squatting) is the practice of registering, trafficking in, or using an Internet domain name, with a bad faith intent to profit from the goodwill of a trademark belonging to someone else.

The term is derived from "squatting", which is the act of occupying an abandoned or unoccupied space or building that the squatter does not own, rent, or otherwise have permission to use."


Let me throw out an example, registering mcdonalds.org where McDonald's is a trade marked name.

You think people type in a zero in place of an O,this is one of the common typos I see in domains, people think replacing the O with a zero will get them free hits, not so.
