[RANT] Stop nickel and diming grow up be a business

Last night I was out having dinner and the bill came, $3 covid-19 fee, they added 18% tip, 4% credit card fee plus tax.

What the hell is wrong with people, I asked the waited what covid fee, I know some places tacked on a few bucks during the pandemic but the damn thing is not even in the news any more. He told me it is going to be renamed to a "Sanitizing fee" I said what does that mean, he said to clean the menu, chair and doors to the restaurant and restrooms. To which I replied, so if I don't want to pay it would you give me a dirty menu?

Then the pre-checked 18% tip, I really have a big problem with tips. I understand that is how waiters make money but it should be voluntary and not mandatory. I go to McDonalds buy my Big Mac and fries they won't even accept a tip, you go most other places they look at you as if you are stealing the take away if you do not tip.
I tip very well if the waiter makes an effort to bring the correct meal, comes by at least 2 times during the meal to see if I want something. It they just take the order bring the food come when it's time to pay I leave them 10%.

Credit card gateway fee bs, it is ridiculous most people pay by plastic anyways, build in the 4% if it is that much into your prices.

If you want to nickel and dime you are not a serious business or are so close to bankruptcy it is not funny.

The covid fee needs to do, the credit card fee needs to be factored into the price, the tip should not be mandatory, the tax well that's the only on we can not get away with so it's fine.

Cross sales were big 15 years ago not so much now.The pre-checked ones were not right and hurt our business.
