Update or not to update that is the question

[jasper]

With quite a few scripts that run on MySql 5 my server is on Mysql 5.7, do I risk some scripts not working on MySql 8 or stay as it is. My host said once I update there is no going back, what you say.....

Keep all scripts current to avoid problems there is a good reason scripts are updated.

Can't you run 2 versions of mysql on the same server

[fappmaster]

Update or you will have issues later

Eventually you will need to update or the scripts will fail to work.

Eventually you will need to update or the scripts will fail to work.

In addition you might get your sites hacked through vulnerable scripts

Update that is my final answer.
