Bumping Navalny off is one thing but you CANT bump off an old woman simply for wanting to bury her dead sons body. The Russian people would never stand for that and Putin knows it
If he's a killer as you say he is then bumping off another woman is not going to be a big decision is it.

I dont think there can be any doubt that Putin is a killer. Nobody can seriously believe that Prigozhin's plane crash a few months ago was some kind of accident. Especially as it came just weeks after the world predicted that his life was in danger for standing up to Putin

Having said that Prigozhin, Navalny, Nemtsov and all the other people Putin has had killed have all been political figures. They can always be explained away as "enemies of the state" but this is different. This is a 70 something year old woman with no political ambitions who has just lost her only son. Everybody can sympathise with that and Putin knows he can't simply bump her off and claim she was another enemy of the state.

The same thing happened when the Kursk went down. The mothers of the dead sailors were protesting like crazy, blaming Putin personally for their loss and Putin had to back down. Mothers carry a LOT of weight in Russia and they are practically untouchable

The one thing Putin fears most is mass protest. Dictators like him rarely have a long and peaceful retirement. They either die on the job or they are dragged out of office and shot (eg Gadaffi, Sadam Hussein)

you can't control a country that big! you just make the alliance to china more stronger. now they turn further away from usd. i think slowing their imports would be a huge game changer.

As per CNN the funeral for him was today, nothing happened. So much for the authorities not letting him be buried. Guy died was buried, happens every day. Can we move on to more important matters now.

Who said they wouldn't let him be buried ????

I think it was targic that his wife and family could not attend the funeral because the authorities threatened to arrest her if she returned to Russia

Putin did not kill him, it is on cnn and here is the link https://www.foxnews.com/world/putin-lik ... ies-assess

"Russian President Vladimir Putin likely didn’t order the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny when the 47-year-old collapsed and died in February at an Arctic penal colony, U.S. intelligence agencies have concluded, according to a report. "

Not that i care or know much about him, it just reminded me of this thread when reading cnn.com just now.

I think this paragraph says it all "While the U.S. has concluded that the Kremlin attempted to kill Navalny in 2020, when he was poisoned by a Soviet-era Novichok nerve agent, and Putin has culpability in his death earlier this year, agencies like the CIA, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the State Department have assessed that Putin likely wouldn’t have wanted him killed at that moment, according to the Wall Street Journal citing people familiar with the matter. "

Putin might not have ordered him to be murdered whilst he was in prison but there is absolutely NO QUESTION that he tried to murder him in 2020 with Novichok nerve agent. Navalny even duped one of his attackers into admitting it on the phone https://edition.cnn.com/2020/12/21/euro ... index.html

And the idea that Putin was going to set him free in a prisoner exchange is laughable. Why would you go to such lengths to murder someone, only to set him free so he can attack you from abroad ????? Navalny is just the latest in a long line of opposition figures that Putin has had murdered. Here's just a few that we know about :-

Sergei Yushenkov - Shot dead outside his home in Moscow 2003
Victor Yushchenko - Ukranian President poisoned with dioxin on 2004 (survived but disfigured)
Alexander Litvinenko - Poisoned with polonium in London 2006.
Anna Politkovskaya - Shot dead outside her apartment in 2006
Stanislav Markelov - Shot dead outside Kremlin 2009
Sergei Magnitsky - Died in police custody in 2009 after allegedly being brutally beaten
Natalia Estemirova - Kidnapped outsde her home in 2009 and shot in the head
Boris Berezovsky - Found hanged in his london apartment in 2013
Boris Nemtsov - Shot dead outside the Kremlin in 2015 (whilst Kremlin CCTV cameras were conveniently switched OFF for maintenance)
Sergei and Yulia Skripal - Poisoned with Novichok at their home in Salisbury, UK. (survived)
Yevgeny Prigozhin - Died in a mysterious plane crash 2023 after leading revolt against Putin
Alexei Navalny - Poisoned with Novichok in 2020 (survived). Died in prison 2023

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wor ... ious-ways/

Putin doesn't care whether they are in Russia or on foreign soil. He is quite happy to murder innocent people in order to hold onto power and how ANYBODY who believes in democracy can support this guy is totally beyond me

I am not saying Putin is responsible for Navalny's death but where is the proof he had the guy killed. According to the Foxnews link he didn't do it.
