Just force the www in your htacess with the following code and google will pick it up
Line 1 - switches the rewrite engine on (if youve not already done so)
Line 2 - Search for any urls that dont begin with www
Line 3 - Rewrites the entire url beginning with www using a 301 re-direct so google will update its database
Code: Select all
RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L]Line 2 - Search for any urls that dont begin with www
Line 3 - Rewrites the entire url beginning with www using a 301 re-direct so google will update its database

People are used to typing out www and if your htaccess is done right it does not matter either way.

All my sites since 2018 have been without a 'www' prefix in the url. It's a moot point now a days to have one.
