Imagine if you had all of them on ONE domain ??? That would give google something to really get its teeth into

Just saying

Who said I don't or did not or have not tested it. Or have a different business plan?
Because if you HAD tested it then you would have found you get a LOT more from google for one BIG site than for lots of little sites

36,000 pages or subs on a single domain in a short period of time will get the domain blocked

The subs are already there. Google is seeing them as 36,000 seperate small sites each with its own ranking. You get a LOT more return from google if they were all on one BIG site.

That's why none of the big websites out there (facebook, twitter etc) do this

Please, you have no idea what the business strategy is or if I just want to fuck around - - -- cause, I am NUDE.com and can fuck around.
That is how we learn things. testing.

I have already tested making one big site, know what it does. Boring! Limited! Restrictive! Still limited by Google. google can fuck you easy! click click your ONE site is gone.

300 sites making $50 per month is $15k per month. Just random numbers for example.

If the sites are different enough in design, hosting, SEO strategies, content, etc. Google algo updates won't hurt your bottom line as easily as having ONE site and google decrease your rank on a whim. Never been there but heard it hurts. BTW, I had HUNDREDS of EMDs in 2012 making me over $100 per month each some over $12k per month. The EMD update, August or September 2012, slammed me hard. Glad thing I had over 300 sites already at the time. Not really a random number for the example.
the 2012 EMD update only affected a small portion of my sites.
The fact is, had I had ONE site, it would have ended me, like it does most companies.

What you have done with your site, @Tac is NOT something many other people on the planet have done much less can do? Great accomplishment and kudos to you, but you make it sound so easy and it is NOT.

I have built easily over a thousand of sites since 1995. I have been using Google Analytics since before Google PURCHASED the software company URCHIN. believe they purchased the company. Point is Urchin is where Google Analytics was spawned. I used URCHIN 1.0 on my servers. Remember I ran my own hosting company in the 90s.

Most people will NOT create the content needed for a basic website. This is what ends my projects with most clients. They won't create or pay to create content. Even the basics at time.

Another top reason for sites to fail is picking horrible products and services and then NOT adapting to what the marketing data shows. This is part of my Green Pumpkin Theory.

Without new content and created often it does not matter if your site is subdomain or directory-based Google will start ignoring you sooner than later.

Technical SEO needs to be at near perfect, before you start adding content. Why bother adding content if the foundation is not solid.

Don't bother in the beginning with SEO for the content unless you already know what you are doing and are good at it. There are enough people searching for the long trail keywords in some niches to provide more traffic than most companies can deal with the business growth. Especially with hourly services, unique products, physical products, etc.
Remember everyone is not as competent as you!

When you create good enough content, you might just start ranking cause google likes what you created. you can always come back and update the content. Which you should.

Connect Google Search Console. Let search console be your SEO guide (FUCK using analytics connected to search console, learn search console.)

I have sites with thousands of ranked pages, with thousands of keywords and receiving thousands of very specifically niched traffic.
The second I build a client a second site, on a subdomain, we barely modify the same content from the first site and use it as the base content for the second site. As the second site's content becomes unique to its niche inside the primary sites niche or a complementary niche, then I start using canonicals on the almost duplicate pages pointing them back to the primary site. Should probably start with canonicals on.

This teaches google that the two site are related, have similar content, and which one is the authority in what content.
If the primary site is an authority on BALLS and we build basketball.primarysite.com (the way I do) the authority from the primary site related to balls is immediately linked to the subdomain. Where there is ball information, but only what is relevant to basketballs. then we add everything imaginable about basketballs until Google see the ball site linking to a basketball site and a basketball site linking to a ball site. Holding each other/s hand to support Google decision that these are two great BALL sites.
What has historically happened with my sites, is that, The Ball/primary site rankings all over slightly maybe increased a little. Around basketball the primary site slightly improved rank.
However, the Basketball subdomain quickly catches the primary site in basketball ranking and surpasses the ranking. Then depending on how the SEO strategy performs, both sites ranking improves. More importantly, there are now additional pages ranked and displaying for searches and clicks, specifically for basketballs.
Now lets talk about soccer balls?

It is my understanding that Google consider links between subdomains to be internal links.

FYi, not proof reading, so hopefully make sense first type in.

This is not the article I was looking for and it is old.
https://www.mattcutts.com/blog/subdomai ... rectories/
Trying to find a better conversation about domains only showing once per page, (unless) and subdomains since they are separate sites can ALSO show up on the same page with the primary domain. This is a very good reason to use the subdomains.

Already at the top of your niche or just not able to get there.
Does Google consider links between subdomains and the primary site as internal links?

I think you know that I know the answer to that. Supposedly, yes.

15 years ago, in galaxy not too far away, I had a client with 2 to 5 of his domains dominating specific Niches. Many of them with subdomains.
What we found through Analytics and Search console is: the keywords he thought were his keywords were not. What he knew is that Google was sending traffic that was converting into sales.
When we Googled the SEO landing pages SERP', that converted the best, using their top search queries / keywords we found that the most conversions came from SERPs where multiple of his sites were appearing in the results. Either one of his niche sites or the subdomains from his primary site.

This is where I see TACs point, He can only manage one domain at a time, or @tacnet do you have more than one site?

My client could not manage more than a few at a time. He got tired of maintaining so many sites. Dropped to two sites.
Made comment about Obama on one site and boom that site was off google that week.
The other site was not affected. Luckily the other site was where he was moving his primary business model.

The other site lost over $100k in profit per month. All cause Google did not like a comment on a new product and manual actioned him.
Go ahead and put all your eggs in one basket.

Get good with ONE domain using subdirectories, then when you find your self in need of all the traffic, in that niche and you have a good domain name. Like NUDE.com.

Then you can try subdomains.
My case is very unique.

This is why you find a mentor and learn from their trials and errors. So you do not have to learn from yours.

If subdomains were the way to go for SEO purposes, then why do no other big sites do this ???? I cant think of a single site out there (porn or mainstream) that is split up into thousands of subdomains like yours

Truth is, I'll bet we get 10 times more traffic from google with one big site than you do across all your subdomains

As usual you miss the point.

I already have a giant site with hundreds of thousands of pages in folders.

Thus why I started subdomains, some of which have hundreds of thousands of pages.

I started it as a test to expand and it is working!

Could care less if anyone else is doing it or if you can find them doing it.

Someone has to be the first>
Someone has to have the time.

I retired in 2003... I do what I want as I feel like it.

subdomains are working for me.

SEO from NUDE.com to subdomains is working as expected.

Due to ass holes in here talking shit about subdomains and NOT answer the real question of the thread. Sales from HERE are not even good.
Only a few people smart enough to read past the NOT smart replies.

A link from nude.com for SEO is worth $100 per month and I include hosting for a wordpress site.
I also offer guest blogging and other things in addition. Which non of the people with subs are taking advantage of.

You can bet all you want.

I know for a fact that a subdomain of nude.com will perform better than a new domain with the exact same website cloned to both.
I know for a fact that a subdomain new page will perform as well as a new page on NUDE.com.

I know for a fact that having many websites is better than having ONE!
subdomains are better than starting with a new domain, fact.
