One of the places in 2024 I really want to go see is London,so much history there and old buildings,I am into old architecture. Three things I want to ride over there when I visit are your black cabs, double decker buses and underground rail system. I see them in old British movies and want to experience them all.

Yeah we still have black cabs

But if you like all the old buildings and architecture then I would recommend where I live - Oxford. Only about 40 mins away from London by train

A lot of it goes back to the 11th and 12th century https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grade_I_l ... _in_Oxford

We get a lot of US tourists here keen to experience the old achitecture

Well I bought mine for £80k in 2001 (3 bed semi, gardens, 20 mins walk from town center) and one down the road from me was sold for £750k the other day. I would imagine that a 4 bed would be over £1m

Apparently since covid, the prices in Oxford have shot up because people people are moving out of London and working remotely.

I would guess that's probably true but bear in mind this is the UK we are talking about. Believe me, nothing wakes you up more than feeling the North Sea lapping over your private parts

That's a very good question. Honestly I don't think it did, Ive certainly not seen any evidence of it here in Oxford and there's been nothing on the news that I recall

My philosophy is that house prices may go up and down but the overall trend will always be UP for the simple fact that LAND IS THE ONE THING THEY ARE NOT MAKING ANY MORE OF
