He'll get there sooner than later, it is a big rocket takes time to fine tune and iron out the bugs.

It took 9 years to get the Saturn V working properly and that had nowhere near the lifting capabilities of this rocket

Assuming this thing can work out it's kinks and fly, what is the point are we seriously considering putting men on Mars.

Its not going to Mars yet. Its going back to the moon

The long term plan is to establish a base on the moon first and then launch from the moon to Mars. Its a lot cheaper and easier to launch from the moon in only 1/6th earths gravity

If we dont get off this planet then the human species is doomed. Just ask the dinosaurs

@tacnet Fine we get to the moon, how do we refuel the spacecraft and do any servicing on there to then fly out to Mars?

Well the idea is to setup a permanent base on the moon. There is plenty of water ice on the moon's polar regions and from that you can make hydrogen and oxygen which gives you rocket fuel and beathable air

The plan is to build a base in a lava tunnel, a kind of underground volcanic cave which is also available on the moon. That would protect you from solar radiation and if you fill it with air then you could walk around without needing a space suit. Imagine living in an underground city in 1/6th earths gravity. You could strap wings to your arms and fly :D

Obviously these are all long term plans so its not going to happen anytime soon but both the USA and China have stated that they will have a permanently manned moon base by 2030

Think of the first crew members on the thing after a couple exploded in tests what would be going through their minds :----)
Stop looking for reps if they don't care why waste your time and traffic at their program, fuck that.
